I was thinking about your comments on koala bears and how it kind of ruins the sand dweller description, so I did some sketching at lunch. I never,ever want to see a koala with mange...

That is brilliant, man. Sort of a Rankin Bass Gollum thing going on there in the ears. Just awesome.

I wonder why the reference to the koala was used. Sort of reminds me of how Tsathoggua is described as a fury bat-sloth. Were those animals seen as more alien than cute, once upon a time?

Word on the street is that Lovecraft had a lingering fear of drop bears, after corresponding with Douglas Mawson (initially enquiring about the Shackleton expedition).

Cool! Wait...what street are you getting those words from? I want to go to the street where dodgy characters are whispering about which kinds of mammals HPL was afraid of. Seriously. I would move to that street.
