Squamous Scribblings

I wanted to start up a thread to post some of my Lovecraftian sketches and works in progress to hopefully get some feedback and critique from folks who are steeped in the mythos. I have a bunch of stuff that I'll put up at a later date, but I'm saving it for a surprise. Let's start off with the rough sketch for the Grunch I did this morning...

The pose still needs fiddling with, but once that's done I'll lay down some heavy shadows and colour.

*edit* quick colours laid down...

Here's a look at the image I did for Wordcraftian, for suggesting such an excellent name for the MU Yearbook. This was my first attempt at working in Manga Studio, and my first finished piece made exclusively on the Surface Pro.

Wow! That's so creepy. I love the shadow effect, and the look you gave him in the face is really great. He looks life-like, but not actually "alive". The points of light in his eyes are really creepy, too. This is a real winner, Ian. :yay:

I am alive, though barely. I have some more stuff to share, but a bunch of it has to be cleared first (NDAs and all that). I did some cool stuff for Bret Kramer, but I haven't heard from him in a while, so I hope my emails are getting through...

Not purely Mythos, but I think these are sufficiently weird enough to share here:
