What does it do to the theological atmosphere when an obscure god from a dead pantheon suddenly becomes a pop-culture phenomenon in a culture on the far side of the continent?

I could easily see a group of adventurers looking to suppress a new Cult of Medjed, or try and keep the powers of a Medjed-revival from being used to bring back other, less savory characters from the Egyptian pantheon.
